Just want to say that I attended the 3 day CPA-NOW course for the IQEX exam in Toronto. I thought it was really helpful! I didn't do much studying before the course (approximately 5 hours) so the course really put me on the right path.

A few important points from the CPA-NOW course:

[b](1) CPA-NOW customized notes for IQEX is all you need[/b]
It is true that I got a lot out of the course but the reason is because I only did a couple of hours of studying on my own before attending. In reality, the course helped me "start" my studying and put me on the right track. All you really need though is the customized notes developed by Mr. Zimmer and put in the required amount of studying (70 hours) and you should pass.

[b](2) IQEX is not the full CPA exam [/b]
For those who want to study on their own without a course, it is possible, however, you are very likely to spend a lot of time studying material that is not relevant to the IQEX exam. As CAs, we went through a difficult and frustrating UFE process. Our training is that we want to do more and not less. This, I believe, would not be ideal for the IQEX exam. It is a 4 hour multiple choice exam (150 questions) and you need 75% correct answers to pass. The exam covers mostly regulation (law, ethics and tax) and another 20% on other subjects. Simply by studying regulation on your own, you are probably studying too much material that would not be tested on IQEX. The full CPA exam is an exam over several days (not consecutive) which includes short answers and essays (and covers much more than IQEX). Over doing it for this exam is not necessary and the CPA/IQEX process recognizes the hard work we put in for our CAs.. so don't over due it for nothing! CPA-NOW notes really focus your studying.

[b](3) Pass Guarantee for IQEX from CPA-NOW[/b]
It is possible that for whatever reason one may not pass the IQEX. Mr. Zimmer has a guarantee that one will pass the IQEX with the use of CPA-NOW notes. If it does not work out, there is a pass guarantee meaning the notes for the following year's IQEX will be supplied free of charge. I believe that is a great deal in case things don't work out. But do not worry.. (see point 4)

[b](4) Have confidence in your abilities as a CA for the IQEX[/b]
As stated in point (2), the IQEX is a much easier and smoother process than UFE. You are a bright person having gone through the UFE process and being recognized as a CA. Mr. Zimmer has put in the necessary time to make our lives easier to adding the CPA title next to our names. Your ability as a CA, coupled with the customized notes from CPA-NOW are the keys to success for the IQEX.
